Let’s GO to the Neighborhood – LES INSOLITE

Tangier has always been, and continues to be, a special place for writers and lovers of literature. This cozy and artsy bookstore/gallery is the product of founder and director Stéphanie Gaou’s passion. As a project
aimed to reinvigorate Tangier’s literary scene, Les Insolites opened in 2010 and has since become one of the city’s most remarkable bookstores.

This cultural space offers a carefully curated selection of books, exhibitions, and unique cultural activities led by Gaou, primarily in English and French. In 2022, Gaou became a member of the jury for the Livres Hebdo award, after winning the award and being named the
best bookstore outside France in 2021.
